Reading these BBC Sport comments after Newcastle United’s victory against Wolves is fascinating.
The neutrals’ remarks are very illuminating.
Much of it was in contrast to what supporters of Newcastle United had become accustomed to from the BBC Sport “neutrals.”
In the past, impartial BBC Sport comments have mostly consisted of a litany of insults directed on NUFC supporters.
Specifically, the media-inspired pile-ons that Newcastle United supporters have grown used to when they are held accountable for the ownership of their team.
But this time, politics are essentially nonexistent.
Rather, the argument was dominated by what transpired on the pitch.
The following comments were sent by readers of BBC Sport who were neutral, Wolves supporters, and the occasional Newcastle fan:
Although Newcastle is quietly up to third in the league, despite criticism that they are not playing well this season, they must be doing something right.
I think Tonali’s comeback will be very beneficial. His substitution appearance tonight demonstrated how vital Tonali is to Newcastle. He is an incredible player.

Harvey Barnes did a great job; it’s good to see him succeeding.
With further games, I have no doubt that he will continue to improve.
“He is a fantastic addition to the NUFC.”
Between him and “Fall on the floor Maddison,” it is unquestionably superior.
Eddie Howe appears to like integrating individuals into the squad gradually. Even though Bruno and Botman are elite athletes, Howe started them as substitutes in their first few games. After playing a few games as a substitute last season, Barnes sustained an injury. Howe will probably start him more frequently after a few more games.
‘Well done Newcastle, back in the top 4 where you belong.’
“Where they would be nowhere near without a load of dubious money and where they mistakenly think they belong.”
“Howe has the biggest headache in the league with Barnes and Gordon, the two best left wingers in the league. If only they were as good and efficient on the right wing, the issue would be solved.”
It was a great tactical fight between the managers; Newcastle had an easy and self-assured start, but once O’Neil made a few adjustments, Wolves became more dangerous and Newcastle was unable to hold onto the ball. After Howe made his replacements, the situation shifted once more. The goals were all a little unexpected, but you can do that if your squad is filled with talented players.

Apparently, Newcastle didn’t require Guehi after all.
The media, especially Sky TV, is often bringing up “unrest” at Newcastle, seemingly in an effort to stir things up.
The data point to the opposite.
It appears like Bruno and Anthony are being rotated for fouls this year versus Newcastle. This season, opposing teams have taken turns fouling those two in every game. Consequently, don’t acquire a booking.
“I felt it was a good game as a neutral.” On a more general note, with Barnes today and Duran yesterday, how wonderful is it to watch players shoot confidently from a distance and to see long range shots succeed instead of the most recent trend when every team tries to stroll the ball into the net?
“O’Neil’s strategies are so awful.”
For the first twenty-five minutes, Newcastle played us off the field, but we were able to take the initiative and win.
In the second half, they were allowed to roam throughout Molineux and we never bothered to shut them down. They had to punish us eventually, and they did.
Gary, it’s back to the drawing board.
“I thought Newcastle played really well in the first fifteen minutes, and Wolves did well to stay in the game. However, Wolves improved, and Newcastle was unable to get close to the ball and was fortunate to lead by just 1-0 at the half.”
Truthfully, a draw would have been a fair outcome, but Newcastle had a stronger bench. However, Howe’s three outstanding substitutions at halfway turned the tide of the match in Newcastle’s favor.
“Long staff has been unfairly criticized for how much he is.” He never leaves when someone goes missing. His errors are exaggerated beyond recognition. He won’t be the greatest and will inevitably fall in the rankings, but he is still a good player.
‘Wolves and Everton will probably save Leicester and Ipswich from relegation.’
“Leave it to be Everton, please.”
Nukecastle is steadily gaining ground and persevering in silence. At this point, nothing particularly spectacular or eye-catching, but the groundwork is in place. Not even a European effort to divert their attention. ominous
“Fans of Leicester City here.”
Now that he’s well, Barnsie will score at least fifteen goals for the Geordie guys.
“Wolves should have gained something from today’s game, but a player like Barnes is priceless.” The Wolves players who haven’t played together for a long time have some good things to say. Andre, you’re going to be a star; take a bow.
