Host of Match of the Day Gary Lineker is open about his passion for Leicester City, and he had the same frustrations as other Foxes supporters after the team surrendered a 2-0 lead to Crystal Palace in a 2-2 draw on Saturday.

Although Leicester City came agonizingly close to winning against Crystal Palace, Steve Cooper remains unfulfilled as manager of the team after the draw at Selhurst Park.

In the twenty-first minute, Jamie Vardy gave Leicester the lead. Shortly after the break, on his first Premier League appearance, Stephy Mavididi doubled the lead.

Jean-Philippe Mateta cut the lead in half a minute later, and the French forward then converted a penalty that Conor Coady had given up in the 92nd minute to share the points.

Gary Lineker unhappy with VAR after Leicester City vs Crystal Palace

Mateta’s opening goal of the game appeared to be offside, and there was a long wait while fans of both teams held their breaths.

The Palace forward was eventually found to be just barely onside by VAR, but Gary Lineker was left perplexed by the ruling.

In an interview with Micah Richards and Alan Shearer for The Rest Is Football, Lineker discussed the event that made him furious, stating: “They [Palace] had a goal that was initially ruled out for offside and then VAR decided it wasn’t.”

“However, I’m not sure how they managed to achieve it.and after that, you just kind of assumed that they would equalize, and they did. Conor Coady, on the other hand, will know that he was duped.

“Did you see him with his head in his hands?” Richards continued. I had sympathy for him. He simply knew when he had made it, but you always hope it’s offside or the player has dived or anything.

Shearer responded, “Yeah, it was a tough watch for him,” while appearing alongside Lineker on Saturday night’s episode of Match of the Day.p
Shearer brought up the incident again later in the show, saying, “Micah, you shouldve heard him raging yesterday.” when the lines were being drawn to indicate an offside that would make the score 2-1. There was steam coming out of those ears.

“Honestly, you should’ve seen it. He was getting so angry, so animated.”
