Here’s what Lubo’s left peg, a well-known participant in our Celtic Noise forum, had to say about the comments made by Andrew Smith, the editor of The Celtic View at the time, on his viewpoint on the Battle to Save Celtic. The video is near the end and is fascinating to see and listen to as always. I’m not sure how to react to this. According to my understanding, the Celtic View served as the former board’s propaganda tool during that time. Is that accurate?

Were there articles criticizing the fan clubs at the time in the view? The individual who was being questioned, in my opinion, kind of sidestepped the fan groups’ objections to the board.

Furthermore, he makes the astonishing assertion that the absence of awards and bad performance were what compelled reform, not the fan clubs. I’ve discovered so much about the club simply from listening to this incredible series, and I now think the board was driven out by the demonstrations and subsequent boycott. They would have continued, in my opinion, until Celtic was extinct.

Still, it’s an interesting listen once more.
