ollowing a brutal 47-9 loss to the Detroit Lions in Week 6, many Dallas Cowboys fans are pleading for a change. The team’s offensive woes were noteworthy, and while the defense allowed nearly 50 points, that side of the ball can at least point to injuries to the likes of Micah Parsons and DeMarcus Lawrence.
The Cowboys have numerous areas of concern on the offensive side of the ball, with their lack of consistency in the run game being just one glaring issue. But after an offseason of mostly sitting on their hands in free agency and a general lack of moves, it would be a surprise if the Cowboys shook things up before the November 5 trade deadline.
coach Mike McCarthy may have dropped a subtle hint about what lies ahead, or at least his expectations about what could be on the horizon.
“I mean, the ebb and flow of what we’re doing is there’s way too many highs and too many lows. This is all over right now,” McCarthy said, via The Athletic’s Jon Machota. “There’s none of us that feel good about how we performed today.” “That’s where it’s important for every one of us, starting with myself, they need to look in the mirror. They need to stick together. They aren’t going to get any help. We don’t need any help, don’t want any help. So, we just need to stay after it, keep working, and I’m very confident we’ll come out the other end.”
Hearing a head coach coming off a 38-point home loss state that they “aren’t going to get any help” isn’t out of the norm. However, it’s less than ideal for a Cowboys team battling injuries and struggling to find consistency offensively.
