Latest Nottingham Forest news from NottinghamshireLive as they prepare to face Leicester City and former boss Steve Cooper

When predicting the outcome of Nottingham Forest’s matchup with Leicester City, pundits Chris Sutton and Paul Merson disagree.

On Friday night at 8 p.m., the Reds take on the Foxes and former manager Steve Cooper at the King Power Stadium in the Premier League. Leicester has only suffered one home loss all season, while they have gone undefeated away from the City Ground.

“Leicester City will be full of confidence because they came back from the dead to beat Southampton last time out,” Sutton told the BBC.

However, I think Nottingham Forest will win this. Although they don’t score many goals, their defence is excellent; in their first eight league games, they have given up six goals, and only leaders Liverpool have a better defensive record.

“I am thus going to aim for another Forest victory, 1-0, which is the same outcome as the one I predicted against Crystal Palace on Monday.

“Callum Hudson-Odoi may have an injury problem for Forest, and it would be a blow if he missed this game. However, Chris Wood, the former “Wood-chopper,” is unstoppable for them right now, having scored three goals in his last four games. I suggest adding him to your fantasy team.

Sutton’s forecast: 0–1.

Merson told Sportskeeda: “This one is a bit of a local derby! Last time out, Leicester City defeated Southampton with an incredible outcome. I predicted they would win, but I didn’t think they would come back from a 2-0 deficit.

“This is an equally vital game for Leicester, no question about that. They now need to support it with at least one more draw. The good work they done against Southampton will be thrown out the window if they lose at Nottingham Forest.

“Even if Steve Cooper was criticised early on, I still like him. Without a doubt, Leicester is a team that produces results.

“They will finish ahead of Southampton and Ipswich Town, but the difficult aspect is that they have to find one more team to beat. Wolves are not as terrible as they appear, despite their current position in the table. Everton is no different; they consistently manage to escape relegation.

The main question for Leicester is whether they can find a team to finish higher in the standings. I do believe Leicester will have a very difficult game. Forest is a superior counterattacking unit and a better team away from home. In this one, I’m aiming for a draw.

Merson’s forecast: 1-1
