With Fulham travelling north, Everton will be back in Merseyside this weekend in an attempt to win two straight games.

After a run of better play, Sean Dyche’s team has managed to build a five-point lead over the bottom three.

This Saturday, the Toffees will welcome back Marco Silva, one of their previous managers, whose team is coming off two straight losses.

Before his final visit to Goodison Park before Everton’s transfer next summer, Silva has already expressed his feelings.

However, with Dyche providing an encouraging injury update on defender Jarrad Branthwaite prior to the match, Everton will be concentrated on the task at hand.

Additionally, it appears that Everton has invited some of its young players to train with the first squad this week in preparation for the match.

Everton promote two youth team players in training

After their journey to Suffolk, where they defeated Ipswich Town by three points, the Toffees have had the entire week to improve.

Everton’s injury situation has not been entirely good, as Tim Iroegbunam and James Garner are expected to miss Saturday’s match.

However, this week, a few of Everton’s bright young players have stepped up and joined the first team’s training session.

Ahead of the Fulham match, the team published some intriguing pictures from Finch Farm training on Thursday.

In one of the pictures, Callum Bates was seen dribbling the ball alongside left-winger Isaac Heath.

Due to the injuries the team is dealing with, Dyche may find his options in the midfield somewhat limited at the moment that Bates is joining the first team for training.

Who is Callum Bates?

With five Premier League 2 games already this season, the 19-year-old midfielder has established himself as a mainstay in the Everton U21s squad.

After playing 48 games for Everton’s U18 team, Bates only recently advanced to the U21s football team.

Paul Tait, the manager of Everton’s U21 team, has previously spoken well of Bates, giving him high accolades when he was just 17 years old early last year.

Tait told the Liverpool Echo, “The two young guys in the middle of the midfield, Matty (Apter) and Callum (Bates), were great, and I am looking forward to giving them more opportunities.”

“They were excellent in the passing and displayed true tactical acumen.”

Given Dyche’s injury problems, Bates might be in line to make up the numbers in the matchday squad even though he isn’t yet ready to start in the Premier League.
