Phil Parkinson, Wrexham AFC’s dedicated head coach, will take a short break from his role to focus on family matters. In his absence, trusted assistant coach Steve Parkin will temporarily lead the team, ensuring continuity and stability.
Parkinson and Parkin’s partnership dates back to 2011 when they first joined forces at Bradford City. Since then, they’ve formed a strong coaching duo, working together at Bolton Wanderers, Sunderland, and now Wrexham AFC. When Parkinson joined Wrexham in 2021, he brought Parkin along, knowing that their shared approach and close connection would be invaluable to the team’s progress.
Parkin, who previously managed Mansfield Town, Barnsley, and Rochdale AFC, brings years of experience and leadership to his temporary head coach role. He’s committed to maintaining the team’s momentum and keeping the players focused until Parkinson’s return.
Wrexham fans can rest assured that this is just a brief break. Parkinson will be back in no time, with renewed focus and energy, ready to lead Wrexham forward with the same dedication he’s shown since day one.
