Everton fans won’t be too pleased with what’s going on at their club right now and may be even more annoyed when they find out about a potential in-house agreement.
Given that their team is now even closer to the relegation zone, Everton supporters are not in a very positive mood following the weekend’s outcome against Brentford.
During the Brentford match, Sean Dyche didn’t help himself. In the second half, some supporters could be heard yelling at the Everton manager to substitute players.
Jordan Pickford even expressed his annoyance during the game by yelling for a change because he felt that nothing was changing.
A player who has been dividing fans’ sentiments at Goodison Park throughout the season is the subject of some news that has surfaced off the pitch.
Everton sources confident of agreeing a new deal for Dominic Calvert-Lewin
With just two goals in 12 games for the Toffees this season, Dominic Calvert-Lewin has simply fallen short of expectations.
Calvert-Lewin’s performance against Brentford drew criticism from Everton supporters, many of whom pointed out that he didn’t contribute anything to the match.
But it seems that the club’s officials and the Friedkin Group are aiming to persuade him to sign a new contract with Everton.
Everton insiders tell the BBC that they are still hopeful of reaching a deal with the player.
There have been rumours that he is considering his options since his current contract expires in the summer.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin worth a new deal?
Since Dominic Calvert-Lewin already makes £100k per week, any new contract would probably increase his income significantly, putting him over Jordan Pickford, who makes £130k per week.
But this would be a grave error.
He has had numerous opportunities this season but has struggled to complete them, which has contributed to Everton’s two goals in 12 Premier League goals.
This is among the issues that the club is now facing. They lack the necessary ruthlessness.
Why aren’t players held to the same standards as managers, who the Friedkin Group has been ready to fire when they’re not performing at Roma?
