Shedeur Sanders has been teasing the Las Vegas Raiders for months. While his father, Deion Sanders, has been spotted encouraging head coach Antonio Pierce to choose his kids, the Colorado star quarterback has made some insinuations about his interest in the team.

Shedeur Sanders recently sparked additional rumors regarding his interest with the Raiders after sharing a photo of Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium on Instagram with the phrase, “legendary.” Prior to his teammate confronting him on a podcast, Sanders provided little explanation for why he wrote it.

During his recent appearance on “The Travis Hunter Show,” two-way sensation Travis Hunter asked the QB a question.

“I have some inquiries about Las Vegas. What you posted on your article, buddy, is what I’m talking about. Why did you post it, my friend? Sanders was asked by Hunter.

Sanders answered, “Because it’s a nice stadium, bro.”

“All right,” Hunter said. “Yes, you are correct; it is a pleasant stadium.”

Hunter is the one who knows where Sanders wants to play. Over the course of their three years as teammates, the two have grown close. It’s interesting that Sanders didn’t have a more considered response to the topic of why he posted that post, even since it’s obvious that he’s enjoying himself with his quarterback.

Raiders Almost Certainly Will Draft a QB

The Raiders’ placement in the AFC West is regrettable. Bo Nix may win offensive rookie of the year, Justin Herbert is undoubtedly one of the top five quarterbacks in the NFL, and Patrick Mahomes is the best quarterback in the league.

Using interim quarterbacks won’t help the Raiders move very far. They must eventually select a prospect with promise, even if they are not a fan of any of the players in the 2025 NFL Draft class.

Sanders may be the first player chosen and will be a first-round choice. He isn’t regarded as a generational potential, though. Taking him with such a high choice might be a stretch. That’s probably the only thing that would make the Raiders reconsider selecting him in the draft. In any case, they will most likely select a rookie quarterback at some point out of the 2025 NFL Draft.

Sanders Could Be a Week 1 Starter

Being a pro-style quarterback is one of Sanders’ main qualities that should appeal to the Raiders. For the past two years, he has been honing his skills under Pat Shurmur, the former head coach of the New York Giants and Cleveland Browns.

Sanders is an extremely accurate pocket passer. Although he lacks the athleticism of recent No. 1 picks like Trevor Lawrence, Kyler Murray, and Caleb Williams, he is still a good athlete.

Although Cam Ward of Miami is regarded as the second-best quarterback prospect in the draft, it might take him some time to mature. The Raiders don’t actually have that much time unless they’re prepared to wait.

The likelihood that Las Vegas will select Sanders only increases if Pierce remains their head coach. He knows he wants a quarterback he can win with right away because he cannot afford to have another poor season.
