Jason Ryles has made it apparent to Josh Addo-Carr, a star recruit and fellow former Storm player, where he stands on the Eels roster.
Addo-Carr has only committed to a one-year deal with Parramatta, with the club having the option to extend it the following year.
Following a turbulent season finale, the representative star wants to return the trust that former Melbourne Storm coach Jason Ryles placed in the winger.
“I want to help these [Parramatta] boys achieve their dreams… hopefully we can do something special this year.” According to Nine’s WWOS, Addo-Carr stated.
But the man they call ‘Fox’ knows he has to compete to be in the Eels starting lineup. The big signing was sternly warned by new coach Jason Ryles that a starting position is not assured.
“We’ve got a bunch of amazing players here, and it’s just going to make everyone hungrier.” Addo-Carr was added.
“I’ve definitely got to fight for my position, that’s what I plan to do and it’s only going to make the team and everyone else better.”
Jason Ryles emphasized the thrill of getting back in touch with one of the game’s iconic characters during a press conference last month.
“There was a chance to talk to him. “I probably wouldn’t be talking about him now if I hadn’t known him and had the relationship that I do with him,” Ryles said.
It all comes down to what we can accomplish in the future. He committed a mistake and had to pay the consequence.
After missing out on the winning NSW squad this season, the former Origin star will be hoping to make a comeback to the grandest platform in the game.
Addo-Carr, who played his best football under Ryles at the Storm, might regain the form that earned him two Storm premierships and 15 caps for the NSW Blues.
