Allardyce returns to Premier League as Leeds head coach

 

Javi Gracia has been named head coach of Leeds United. The team is currently in 19th place in the Premier League standings when the former manager of Watford, Valencia, and Al Sadd takes over at Elland Road. The 52-year-old took over as the leader after Jesse Marsch was fired on February 6.

Javi Gracia has been named as Leeds United’s next head coach, the Premier League team has confirmed.
Leeds posted an official statement on their website, stating, “Leeds United are delighted to announce the club have agreed terms with Javi Gracia to become men’s first team head coach, subject to obtaining a work permit.”
A “flexible contract” has been agreed to by the 52-year-old at Elland Road.

Leeds had fired Jesse Marsch on February 6 and had been looking for a new manager ever since.
The club’s first-team operations were managed by Under-21 manager Michael Skubala, who oversaw a 2-2 tie and a 2-0 loss against Manchester United before to a 1-0 loss versus Everton. For the foreseeable future, he will continue to play for the first team.
When he was appointed, Leeds was ranked 19th in the Premier League standings.
Gracia was named Watford’s manager in 2018, giving her Premier League experience. In 2017–18, he guided the Hornets to a 14th-place result.

The next season, he led the team to 11th place and earned them a spot in the FA Cup final, which they ultimately lost to Manchester City 6-0.
In addition, Gracia has managed Valencia, Al Sadd, Rubin Kazan, Osasuna, and Malaga.
