For the next two weeks, the only things preventing the Kansas City Chiefs and everyone associated with them from being on every media outlet are Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens. Given the rumors surrounding Andy Reid’s and Travis Kelce’s retirement, it appears like this has already started. Although player partners are also in the news, this could provide the Ravens with the leverage they need to humiliate the Chiefs on Sunday. It’s not as though a squad with 13 victories requires any further inspiration. The Chiefs have struggled for much of the season, and the Ravens have been the superior team the entire time. The Ravens should win by double digits and go to the championship game in addition to covering.

The Ravens defense, which has significantly improved this season, has been the team’s biggest change, despite Lamar Jackson’s incredible play garnering most of the attention. This defense has given up the fewest points overall and the sixth fewest yards to the throw of any defense. However, the Chiefs have also performed admirably, giving up the third fewest points away from home this year. Points will not come easily for either of these two sides; it should feel like a heavyweight prize fight. For as many points as the wager feels comfortable, take the under on the total.

The young Detroit Lions take on the heavily favored San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship game. The Niners were predicted to be at the top of the NFC because of their recent successful play. The Lions were playing well under Dan Campbell, but this season they really improved and are now one win away from making it to the Super Bowl. Although there is now a large spread on the game, the Lions have enough resilience and depth in the trenches to keep the score tight. The 49ers have played some vulnerable defense, particularly when it comes to stopping the rush. Last week, they gave up more than 5.5 yards per carry to the Green Bay Packers. Montgomery, Davidand Jahmyr Gibbs will probably see the ball more than 20 times in this contest, keeping it close the entire time. In addition to covering the large spread, there are situations in which the Lions win straight up on the money line.

The 49ers defense not only had a poor season, but tight ends also outperformed them in terms of production. They gave up the tenth-most receptions to tight ends throughout the season. For all the hype surrounding breakthrough rookie Sam LaPorta, this is wonderful news. In three of the Lions’ previous three games, LaPorta has at least seven targets. This includes a massive 11 target game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who offered a comparable matchup, in last week’s playoff game. LaPorta is probably going to hit it too if yardage is more comfortable for a prop.
