  • Reuben Frank and Dave Zangaro talk about Doug Nussmeier’s appointment as the Eagles’ new quarterbacks coach.

It seems like at least one of Nick Sirianni’s assistant coaches is staying put.

    One crucial assistant coach.

Along with the coordinators, the Eagles have parted ways with a number of assistant coaches from Nick Sirianni’s coaching staff, including linebackers coach D.J. Eliot, quarterbacks coach Alex Tanney, and secondary coach D.K. McDonald. More departures are expected in the coming days.

However, it appears that the one coach that is desired by all will remain.

The renowned offensive line coach for the Eagles, Jeff Stoutland, tweeted a video on Tuesday afternoon that appeared to confirm his inclusion on the coaching staff in 2024.

  • “This is Coach Stout,” he said. “I’ve heard that we’re playing in Brazil. Kickoff for the season’s first game in 2024. Just a quick shout out to all of the São Paulo, Brazil, fans. We will see you shortly. Make a bold statement.
  • “Nos Vemos em breve” translates to “see you, soon” in Portuguese, which is Brazil’s official language.

Stout would never tweet it out if he wasn’t given the go-ahead to stay. Why wouldn’t he, too? He is hefty.

The Eagles’ season opener at Arena Corinthians in São Paulo on Friday, September 5th, against an opponent to be announced, will go place, the NFL said on Monday. It will be the first NFL game played in South America and the first NFL opener on a Friday since 1970.

This is the first indication that Stoutland will remain with the Eagles, as they have not made any announcements regarding the arrivals or departures of their position coaches.

When it comes to staffing, Sirianni has allowed new coordinators Vic Fangio and Kellen Moore autonomy, although

One of the best offensive line coaches in NFL history is difficult to picture any new offensive coordinator wanting to take his place.

Chip Kelly brought Stoutland on board here in 2013, and both Doug Pederson and Sirianni decided to keep him aboard.

This will be the 12th season that he serves as an assistant coach with the Eagles, assuming he returns in 2024 (and he seems prepared to go to Brazil).

Ted Williams (20 years under Ray Rhodes, Andy Reid, and Kelly), Juan Castillo (18 years under Rhodes and Reid), Reid (14), Fred Bruney (14 years under Joe Kuharich, Dick Vermeil, and Marion Campbell), David Culley and Tom Melvin (14 years under Reid), and Pat are the only other coaches in franchise history to have spent 12 years with the Eagles.

Shurmur, served for 13 years by Reid and Kelly.

The 14 years Bruney lived were not consecutive. Williams, who coached running backs for 16 years (1997 through 2012), and Castillo, who coached offensive lines for 13 years (1998–2010), are the only assistants with at least 12 years in a single position with the Eagles.

The Eagles have had ten first-team all-pro selections in Stoutland’s eleven years as the offensive line coach (Jason Kelce six times, Lane Johnson twice, Jason Peters and Evan Mathis once each). Ten first-team all-pros and an AP all-pro team were chosen in the 74 years before to this one.

Under Stoutland, a total of 23 Pro Bowls have been won by Kelce, Johnson, Peters, Mathis, Brandon Brooks, and Landon Dickerson. Over the preceding half-century, Eagles offensive linemen have made

A total of 21 Pro Bowls.

Kelce has expressed his gratitude to Stoutland on numerous occasions. Every Eagles fan will always remember seeing a distraught Kelce embrace Stoutland on the sidelines of Raymond James Field during the final moments of the team’s playoff defeat to the Bucs.

Could Jason Kelce’s retirement be influenced by Stoutland’s return? It cannot be harmful.
