As expected, the most successful head coach in Raptors history is sticking around long-term.
Dwane Casey and the Raptors agreed to a new three-year contract on Thursday, sources confirmed to Postmedia, something general manager Masai Ujiri had said last week he expected to be able to get done “in his sleep.”
The Raptors had a team option for next season after extending him a few years ago, but replaced it with a new three-year deal worth US$18-million He had been making around $4 million a season under the previous contract.
Previously, Ujiri stuck with Casey after Toronto’s disastrous sweep at the hands of the Washington Wizards, and that decision paid of season later.
