The Giants have refused to provide the Cowboys authorization to

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Giants have forbidden the Cowboys from interviewing defensive line coach Andre Patterson for the same role.

Prior to the 202 season, Patterson, 63, became a member of the Giants’ staff.

Following the acquisition of Mike Zimmer as their new defensive coordinator, the Cowboys asked to speak with Patterson. When Patterson was a member of the Minnesota Vikings, Zimmer was his co-defensive coordinator and defensive line coach.

Zimmer will be a member of the Cowboys for the second time. He worked with Dallas from 1994 to 2006 as the defensive coordinator, defensive backs coach, and defensive assistant.

Zimmer told ESPN that he was “excited and honored to be back with a great organization” after being hired. “I’m excited to work with Mike McCarthy, who I have a great deal of respect for from our NFC North days, and to support the Joneses and the Cowboys in any way that I can.”
