Lions fans celebrate think this is the year

Detroit Lions fans celebrate first playoff win in 32 years

The enthusiasm around the Lions this season is palpable, as HBO’s “Hard Knocks” provided fans with an intimate glimpse of head coach Dan Campbell’s contagious, confrontational approach.

According to MLive Lions beat writer Benjamin Raven, “there’s just never been more attention paid to this

team,” Axios reports. “There is actual energy. Both in the press room and on the field, it’s real.”
Current situation: If quarterbacks Jared Goff, who led the Rams to a Super Bowl in the past, and Campbell
are unable to surpass their three victories from the previous year, then all of the excitement might rapidly dissipate.

People who are close to the team feel upbeat about their prospects under the present management, even

though they haven’t won a postseason game in thirty years.
Saying this: naCarlos Mozrre of The Free Press, who has reported on the    team since 2006, the year that
Campbell joined the club as a tight end during his playing career, advises Axios supporters to exercise
patience as the reconstruction moves into its second year.

“Ownership believes they can win with (Campbell) and Holmes, and do it the right way,” Monarrez states
. Campbell has never called plays or served as a coordinator, which is what is preventing him from
progressing. He had a great reputation from his five years as the New Orleans Saints’ associate head coach
before he arrived.
According to Raven, “the culture change is real.” “I think (Campbell’s) the guy that gets them back to the
playoffs and gets them competitive.”

What’s being observed: Wideout D.J. Chark was mentioned by both authors as a player to watch out for who is not widely recognized.
After an injury-shortened season in Jacksonville, the former Pro Bowler inked a $10 million, one-year contract.
Driven to prove he’s a high-dollar player, Chark may top the group in receiving yards, according to Raven.
Fast takes: While Raven projects an 8–9 campaign, Monarrez believes the Lions will win six games this
season.

The conclusion is that, despite the franchise’s dismal past, supporters will always support it.

“Lions fans are among the best fans I’ve ever seen anywhere in American sports because they haven’t given

their fans any real reason to keep rooting for this team — it’s just part of who they are,” Monarrez asserts.

Post to Facebook (new window opens)  That hype could evaporate quickly should quarterback Jared Goff

who once took the Rams to a Super Bowl — and Campbell fail to creep past the three wins they recorded
last season.
