Manziel talked about his issues on ‘Club Shay Shay’.
After his unlikely Heisman Trophy victory as a freshman at Texas A&M, Johnny Manziel gained immense popularity. His rise to prominence intensified further after he was selected by the Cleveland Browns in the draft.
However, Manziel’s career in the NFL ended abruptly after two seasons and fourteen games. With 1,675 passing yards, seven touchdown passes, and seven interceptions, he was 2–6 in eight starts. When the 2016 season ended, he was waived.
Manziel looked notably thinner in the weeks and months after his cut. In a recent installment of Shannon Sharpe’s “Club Shay Shay” podcast, the former NFL quarterback talked about his weight loss.
“I left Cleveland weighing 210 pounds. He said to the Super Bowl champion, “I was 170 pounds sitting in Vegas that August, September, October, or whatever it was later that year. “How can one shed forty pounds? You follow a rigorous blow diet.
“Man, at that moment, when I would look in the mirror, I saw no difference in myself from when I was in Cleveland. I had no idea I had dropped 40 pounds until I stepped on a scale at the Cosmopolitan Hotel in Las Vegas.”
On his friend Alix Earle’s podcast, Brandon Barrios discusses the future of Disney after a “very mean” video.
According to the former quarterback, he switched from cocaine to Oxycontin, then to mushrooms and other stronger substances.
“They were very tumultuous in my life and popped their head, especially in the days wandering around the Hollywood Hills.”
Manziel continued, saying he was unable to get over his melancholy or navigate the demands and expectations of the NFL.
