Man Utd are prepared to agree big fee and terms to sign Araujo, who is close to moving away from Barcelona, according to reports.

As per today’s version of Sport (news image provided below), the Uruguayan international has ‘one foot out of Barca’.

President, Joan Laporta, would like to hold onto the star defender but he is not too optimistic about the his continuity at the Nou Camp.

For months, no progress has been made with regards to his contract renewal and therefore, he could leave the Blaugrana for a ‘high price’.

The Catalan media outlet state Man Utd are willing to offer ‘significant’ money to Barca and also to Araujo to get the deal over the line.

However, they face heavy competition from the likes of Chelsea and Bayern Munich, who are also prepared to agree big deals to lure the South American.

Among the interested clubs, only the Bavarians will be featuring in the UEFA Champions League in the next campaign.

As far as the asking fee is concerned, earlier this week, an amount of £68m is required to secure the defender this summer.

The Red Devils have been defensively average this season due to severe injury crisis at the back and lack of consistency.

A proven quality center back must be signed by Man Utd and Ronald Araujo would be a top class addition.

In your opinion, should United pay the big fee of £68m to secure him from Barca?
