The unfortunate news that one of the Packers’ star players has been injured comes from…

Packers get unfortunate injury updates on Quay Walker, Rudy Ford

Despite practicing, Jaire Alexander has been too injured to play in games for the Green Bay Packers, who have lost two straight and are no longer in the NFC playoff race.

The cornerback has indeed been out since the team’s victory over the Los Angeles Rams on November 5th, according to ESPN’s Rob Demovsky. This is in contrast to “rampant speculation” that he has been “sitting out for reasons beyond his injury and that he’s unhappy with the current direction of the defense.”

Demovsky was informed by an individual close to Alexander that “all that other stuff has had nothing to do with him not playing.”

After suffering a setback to his shoulder, Alexander has missed the previous six games since missing three earlier in the season due to a back issue. However, he was not put on injured reserve, which means that Green Bay lacks depth in their roster.

Furthermore, on November 16, he went back to practice.

With his $21 million salary this season, Alexander is the highest-paid cornerback in the NFL, further indicating that his absence isn’t a result of a contract dispute.

His absence has been felt by the Packers. He is regarded as one of the top performers at his position and is a two-time Pro Bowler. He recorded 56 tackles, 14 passes defended, and five interceptions by the end of the 2022 season.

With a 6-8 record on the year, Green Bay is now ranked 11th in the NFC rankings. It trails the seventh-seeded Minnesota Vikings by just one game for the final playoff position, but it would need to overcome a number of other teams to advance.

Nevertheless, it plays two of its final three games against the 5-9 Chicago Bears and the 2-12 Carolina Panthers, with the other matchup being a matchup with that Vikings club it needs to catch. There can be a surge in the late postseason
