After being released by AFC Bournemouth, former Middlesbrough defender Ryan Fredericks is one of the players who is currently available on the free agent market.
The 31-year-old played for Middlesbrough on loan from Tottenham Hotspur during the 2014–15 season, almost ten years ago. He departed Tottenham in the summer of 2015, thus it turned out to be his last temporary move.

After stints in the Championship with Fulham and Bristol City, he was able to secure a transfer to the Premier League in 2018, where he joined West Ham United. Two years ago, he moved from the Hammers to Bournemouth, but the Cherries have since dismissed him.

The defender, who has played just 13 games for Bournemouth due to injuries, is expected to leave the Vitality Stadium. Due to injuries, he missed the entire previous season and did not play a single minute under Andoni Iraola.

Along with Emiliano Marcondes, Darren Randolph, Jamal Lowe, Lloyd Kelly, and Fredericks, they are leaving Bournemouth. “The club would like to thank all those departing players for their efforts during their time at Vitality Stadium and we wish them well for the future,” the team stated in a statement.

Now, he’ll be trying to restart his career and overcome his period of inactivity. Despite his fitness issues, it would not be surprising to see him draw interest as a competent right-back at the EFL level.
