Transfers involving Newcastle United: This summer, the Magpies will consider bids for Miguel Almiron.
Miguel Almiron, a winger for Newcastle United, may be moved by the team this summer.

The 30-year-old’s Newcastle contract is still valid for two years, but the team will consider offers this summer in an effort to raise money and abide by Financial Fair Play regulations. Almiron was acquired by Newcastle from Atlanta United in 2019 for a then-club record £21 million. The Paraguayan has already made 209 appearances and scored 30 goals in his career.

However, Newcastle is aggressively seeking to bolster their right-wing lineup this summer, and trading Almiron is a possibility if a suitable “upgrade” can be found to take his place. In January, Saudi Arabia expressed interest in signing the winger, but the player preferred to stay at Newcastle, therefore a deal never came together.

Furthermore, according to trade analyst Fabrizio Romano, the Magpies are “open” to selling the player this summer.

Prior to the summer transfer window, Miguel Almiron’s future is still up in the air, he tweeted. “More clubs are expressing interest in the midfielder after the Saudi Pro League move fell through in January.”Newcastle, given the circumstances surrounding Financial Fair Play, is willing to sell Almiron for a reasonable price. The Magpies would try to recover most of the £21 million they spent four and a half years ago to acquire Almiron.
