Amanda Staveley, a co-owner of Newcastle United, has expressed gratitude to the fans during a challenging time for the team.
The Magpies were trying desperately to earn money through player sales in order to meet the Profitability and Sustainability Rules before the deadline of June 30. If they failed, they would lose points in the Premier League. In the final moments, Newcastle managed to reach agreements to sell Elliot Anderson to Nottingham Forest and Yankuba Minteh to Brighton & Hove Albion for a total of £68 million. Because of this, the team was able to meet PSR requirements, avoid having their points deducted for the 2024–25 season, and have a significant transfer budget to bolster their roster. Responses to Newcastle’s last-minute business were divided; some thought it was too good to be true, while others applauded the club’s tenacity for having successfully negotiated two of the largest deals in its history at the right moment. After that, Newcastle named Paul Mitchell as sporting director in lieu of Dan Ashworth and worked out a compensation price with Manchester United for him. It has also been revealed that Lewis Hall, John Ruddy, Odysseas Vlachodimos, and Lloyd Kelly have signed permanent contracts.

Things have started to come together ahead of the new season after a challenging few weeks.

Additionally, Staveley, a co-owner, sent a brief statement to followers on social media. She wrote, “I just wanted to say thank you to our amazing community for all of the kind emails and messages of support we’ve received lately.” “I wish we could answer each person directly. For NUFC, the upcoming season holds a lot of potential, and we won’t have to wait long.
