Everton are now closing in on their third signing of the summer transfer window with the deal set to be wrapped up soon.
The past few days at Goodison Park have undoubtedly been challenging for Everton, as their takeover attempt collapsed once more.
The Friedkin Group withdrew from contention late last week while traveling to Ireland for a friendly match against Sligo Rovers.
But, Sean Dyche will be quite happy with the deals that have been happening behind the scenes, with players coming and departing from Merseyside.
And it appears that the third signing will now likely be completed in the next few hours.
Everton set to conclude signing number three of the summer
Everton’s summer window has been heavily dominated by departures as a result of the Blues’ need to sell last month in order to fulfill the PSR deadline.
More recently, though, the Toffees also bid farewell to Amadou Onana, who signed a £50 million contract to join Aston Villa.
That kind of significant shift will, however, provide Everton some financial flexibility despite their continuing ownership saga.
Everton is poised to demonstrate with a third signing that they are in a strong financial position going forward, as Alan Myers has previously hinted.
Later today, it is anticipated that documents will be exchanged, and the Danish winger will join on a one-year loan agreement for the 2024–25 season.
But if Everton is impressed, they may pay about £17 million to get the player the following summer.
Everton providing Sean Dyche the tools to progress
The Toffees’ tumultuous 2024–25 season was exacerbated by events that occurred off the field.
For everyone associated with the club, losing points and witnessing their takeover attempt fail would have been devastating.
Nevertheless, Everton had a great season finale, demonstrating their ability to compete for promotion rather than merely relegation.
And even with all the unanswered questions, Dyche is getting everything he needs from Everton this summer to really step up and make some progress this season.
