Newcastle United’s bid to sign Noni Madueke from Chelsea is ‘still alive’, according to reports.

The Magpies are searching for offensive reinforcements in response to reports that Miguel Almiron and Anthony Gordon may both depart the team this summer.

Despite notching nine goals and three assists in 40 appearances across all competitions, Madueke is yet to establish himself as a first-team regular at Stamford Bridge. He just joined Chelsea in January 2023 from PSV Eindhoven.

The England youth international has been linked to Newcastle, and a report from Football Insider claims that the deal is “still alive.”

It is believed that Madueke is “open” to a move to St. James’ Park, and the Magpies are working hard to finalize a deal before the summer transfer window closes.

Newcastle closing on Osula signing

Newcastle has a shortlist of forwards in addition to Madueke.

According to a report by Football Insider, the Magpies and Sheffield United have reached an agreement for William Osula, with a medical examination “imminent” before a £15 million transfer.

On April 24, 2024, in Manchester, England, William Osula of Sheffield United warms up before the Premier League game between Manchester United and Sheffield United at Old Trafford.
Although he can play on the left, the Denmark youth international is predominantly a center-forward. Last season, he made 21 appearances in the Premier League, but he did not provide a goal or an assist as Sheffield United ended last with just 16 points and three victories.

Osula did, however, do well in the FA Cup, scoring three goals in two matches—one of which came in a January 4th round loss to Brighton.r
