Newcastle United are no longer interested in the services of Adrien Rabiot, Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi is their priority target.
Newcastle United, under Eddie Howe, has already completed a number of acquisitions during the current transfer window. However, before the window closes, there is still a lot of work to be done in the upcoming weeks. One name that has been connected to a transfer to the Tyneside club for some time is Adrien Rabiot. However, a report from Football Insider claims that Newcastle has given up on acquiring the French international and is instead concentrating on getting Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi.
Rabiot’s Juventus contract expired, leaving him a free agent at this time. Over the previous few seasons, the French international has consistently performed well for his club and nation. He may be a fantastic addition to the midfield player for Newcastle. Even if they won’t have to pay a transfer fee to sign him, it will still cost them a lot of money.
The 2022 World Cup finalist is requesting enormous compensation, and he is
want a respectable signing-on fee as well. The 29-year-old is someone the Magpies would love to have in their lineup, but they are concentrating their efforts on other areas.
Priority one for Newcastle is to have Marc Guehi signed before the start of the new Premier League season the following weekend. They believe the 24-year-old center defender from Crystal Palace would be a great addition in the near and long terms, as they need more talent at the back.
Given that Guehi arrived just in time for the season to begin, they may benefit greatly from the absence of both Jamaal Lascelles and Sven Botman due to injuries. Although the Magpies are putting a lot of effort into reaching an agreement with the Eagles that would likely cost more than £60 million, other Premier League teams are also interested in signing him and may attempt to sabotage the agreement.
