Guerschon Yabusele was aware that he would either get blocked or dunk over LeBron James. With a smile, Yabusele disclosed that he intended to have the poster of the dunk displayed on his wall at home.

Guerschon Yabusele should be happy for his game-winning dunk against LeBron James, even though France finally lost the Olympic final match against Team USA.

Yabusele scored 17 and 20 points in the quarterfinal and final, respectively, in two outstanding performances. After his dunk against LeBron James, who is frequently regarded as the greatest basketball player of all time, social media went crazy.

“I had no option except to slam on LeBron. I convince myself that I’m going to dunk or he’s going to block me when I see him. After the game, he told the French media, “But I’m still going to hang the poster at home.”

“I can tell you that I said a few words to him, I think,” he stated.

France was defeated by the USA in the final for the second consecutive Olympics. The French faced constant doubt this year. Initially, they hardly made it across Japan. Then, in both of their group stage matches, Germany easily trounced them.

When the playoffs arrived, the French bounced back and outperformed Canada and Germany with outstanding defensive basketball.

“The silver medal has the drawback of making you chuckle after you lose. Although it’s a challenging feeling, I won’t give it up for third place,” Yabusele remarked. “It wasn’t an easy medal to get. We deserve it because we went for it. You must lift your head. We revered the jerseys we wore, and we battled. The game was quite tight.”

“Despite our extreme exhaustion, we gave it our all. We made a few little errors, but there’s nothing you can do except watch as great nations like that, led by flashy superstars like Stephen Curry, ultimately catch fire,” he said.
