Football Insider has been informed by sources that Adrien Rabiot, a free agent, has put off Newcastle United.

The midfield player, who left Juventus in June, is available, and the Magpies have looked into making a move for him.

On Monday, September 9, Football Insider said that Man United is now considering a free transfer raid for Rabiot to be too costly.

With the 2024–25 season already begun, the 29-year-old and his advisors are putting a lot of effort into finding him a new team.

But for now, Newcastle and Manchester United cannot afford his salary and contract demands.

As the most prominent free agent still available, Rabiot has long been admired by the Red Devils.

According to sources, in order to approve a contract, Magpies executives will insist that the France international lower his demands.

Rabiot must decrease demands to seal Newcastle move

The Tyneside team will not go over and above to recruit the midfield player in an attempt to improve their ranks.

Rabiot, who is desired by Saudi Arabia and Turkey as well, was a frequent player for France at Euro 2024 but was not included in their most recent roster since he does not have a club.

During the previous season, he made 35 appearances for Juventus in all competitions, with three assists and five goals.

After serving his punishment, Sandro Tonali returned to Newcastle’s central midfield, and Eddie Howe also has alternatives in Bruno Guimaraes and Sean Longstaff.

Man United lost Scott McTominay to Napoli in the summer transfer window, but they still have Casemiro, Kobbie Mainoo, and Manuel Ugarte available in the midfield.
