NBC  has accept Al Michaels from NFL playoff coverage……

NBC removing Al Michaels from NFL playoff coverage 'kind of a shame,' Tim Brando says

The NFL playoff broadcast on NBC won’t feature Al Michaels, the network announced to the New York Post on Tuesday.

When his contract expired in 2022, Michaels left NBC and was given the title of “emeritus” employee. After that, he joined Amazon’s Prime Video to work as the play-by-play commentator for the “Thursday Night Football” package on the platform. This season, he has remained in the booth with Kirk Herbstreit.

However, the arrangement made it possible for Michaels, 79, to watch one of the network’s two postseason games during Wild Card weekend in his old haunts. He and former NFL head coach Tony Dungy teamed up for the thrilling Los Angeles Chargers-Jacksonville Jaguars game, which featured a 27-point comeback for the Jaguars in the second half.

Although players are playing on four days’ rest, the “TNF” slate does not often provide the most entertaining games, Michaels and Dungy have been criticized for their lack of passion throughout the game. The criticisms have followed Michaels into the 2023 season.

NFL:ESPN’s Troy Aikman criticizes officials for their “ridiculous” call-making wait.

Who will call the NFL playoffs on NBC? Noah Eagle receives a call
Todd Blackledge and 27-year-old play-by-play guy Noah Eagle will call the plays instead of Michaels and Dungy. There will be a sideline reporter named Kathryn Tappen. This group leads the network’s Big Ten prime time football package, which made its premiere this year. NBC’s top “SNF” booth, Mike Tirico and Cris Collinsworth, will broadcast both the other game and its divisional round matchup.

In a November conversation, Michaels seemed taken aback by the idea of maybe being relieved of his postseason duty, according to the Post. It was in that very interview that he defended himself against the unfavorable remarks.

Al Michaels has been calling NFL games for how long?
Between 2006 to 2021, Michaels called “Sunday Night Football” for NBC. From 1986 to 2005, he also provided the play-by-play voice for “Monday Night Football.” In 1971, he called his first NFL game, and over the years, he has worked for other networks.

Eagle, the esteemed son of broadcaster Ian Eagle, will call this year’s Super Bowl for Nickelodeon’s kid-focused show. On Saturday, December 23, Eagle, Blackledge, and Tappen will call the Cincinnati Bengals vs. Pittsburgh Steelers game on NBC in a stand-alone window.
