Steelers receive a sad news one of their key player get an injury after the match….

Steelers notes: QB Kenny Pickett and 2 other starters can't finish Sunday's game | Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

Late in the second quarter, the quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers took off rushing on third-and-goal. During Pickett’s attempt to pass the ball toward the end zone, his foot got caught beneath an Arizona Cardinals defender, hurting his ankle and causing him to leave the game for the seventh time in his 24 games as the starting quarterback.

And now for Mitch Trubisky. An unsuccessful fourth-and-goal try from the 1 was met with a pass to Najee Harris by the backup quarterback, who entered the game just in time.

That exchange summed up a day filled with hurt and insults, as the Steelers offense lost 24-10 to a rebuilding Arizona squad, failing to score a touchdown until garbage time.

“It was an awful day at work,” head coach Mike Tomlin remarked. To tell the truth, we didn’t play very well in that game. Thus, it goes without saying that we must take responsibility for it, beginning with me.

It pours when it rains. It was a complete you-know-what storm during a game marked by two protracted weather delays, multiple injuries to important players, and countless self-inflicted wounds. In addition to Pickett’s injury, inside linebacker Elandon Roberts departed the game due to a groin injury, safety Minkah Fitzpatrick broke his hand but was able to cast it and continue playing, and T.J. Watt was examined multiple times by the medical staff.

In response to the topic of whether the Steelers disregarded the Cardinals, Tomlin curtly replied, “No.” Many players disagreed with such idea, including Cameron Heyward, the defensive co-captain.

The offensive was once again the primary offender, even if the defense also had its share of problems.

The expectation was that firing offensive coordinator Matt Canada would spark a stale offense when the Steelers eventually let him go. The offense showed progress last week in Cincinnati, putting up its first 400-yard or more output since the second week of the 2020 campaign. Pickett seemed more at ease and eager to pass the ball downfield.

But any impetus was swiftly lost. The offensive went two steps backwards rather than improving on its performance from the previous week. The Steelers were unable to only score three points in their first two trips inside the 20-yard line, demonstrating that they were unable to adjust even basic red-zone alignment and snap the ball to the quarterback.

Pat Freiermuth, a tight end, stated that the coordinator is unrelated to the situation. It is entirely related to the players. The fact that we’re lining up incorrectly and jumping offsides is not the coordinator’s fault. The coordinator is not at all to blame for this. It never was. It has to be fixed. The participants.
