The Baltimore Ravens’ fear came true Monday following their 23-7 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, as a report from NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport confirmed that standout rookie running back Keaton Mitchell suffered a torn ACL on Sunday.

“Keaton Mitchell, one of their bright young stars with breakout ability, has suffered an ACL tear, sources said after the MRI,” Rapoport writes. “His season is over but he should make a full recovery.”

Following an injury that kept him out of the first five games of the season, Mitchell made a quick impression on the Ravens, scoring two touchdowns and 396 yards on 47 touches in just eight games.

MITCHELL, RAVENS, RB, LIKELY DONE FOR SEASON
Sunday night’s 23-7 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars most certainly resulted in a season-ending knee injury for Ravens running back Keaton Mitchell.

Before suffering a stomach-turning knee injury early in the fourth quarter that required him to be carried off the field and then carted to the locker room, Mitchell was having a fantastic game. He had 73 rushing yards and two receptions for 15 yards. Mitchell was declared out of the game right away, and it is believed that he will miss the remainder of the regular season and the playoffs. To add depth, Melvin Gordon will be added by Baltimore to the active roster.
