Michigan football running back CJ Stokes enters transfer portal

Their backup running back made an entry into the transfer portal for the Wolverines.

Michigan hasn’t experienced a high volume of transfers into the transfer portal like many other institutions have. The Wolverines have managed to keep their squad together going into the College Football Playoffs thus far.

Running back CJ Stokes is the only scholarship player from Michigan listed in the transfer portal thus far. Sam Staruch, the walk-on, has also accessed the gateway.

However, the Wolverines now have an additional means of accessing the transfer portal.

Run back with abandon. Leon Franklin declared that he would be staying with Michigan for the College Football Playoffs, but he would be using the transfer portal.

The Wolverines are loaded at running back and Michigan is bringing in two more running backs in the 2024 cycle. It’s likely Franklin is looking to go somewhere where he can earn more playing time.

Franklin has two years of eligibility remaining.
