BREAKING NEWS; Injury Report: Before the Chargers game, OLB Nik Bonitto resumes practicc.
ENGLEWOOD, Colorado: Outside linebacker Nik Bonitto made his Broncos practice debut after sustaining a knee injury against the Chargers.
In Denver’s Wednesday practice, Bonitto was limited in his participation as the Broncos got ready for their Week 17 game against the Chargers.
The injury occurred during the first half of Denver’s victory in Week 14, the last time the second-year player appeared on the field. Bonitto is second on the squad with seven sacks thus far this season. The only player with more sacks for the Broncos is Jonathan Cooper, with 7.5. With 11, Bonitto is also the Broncos’ leader in tackles for loss.
Due to concussions, wide receiver Courtland Sutton and outside linebacker Baron Browning did not practice on Wednesday.
“Giving you a level is difficult, but today was good,” Head Coach Sean Payton remarked of Sutton. “But he’s in [concussion] protocol, and hopefully each day there’s some progress.”
Running backs Dwayne Washington (sick) and Samaje Perine (not injury related; rested) did not practice either.
tense conclusion Greg Dulcich (hamstring/foot), who is still on injured reserve, hasn’t worked out since December 13 and didn’t do so on Wednesday.
Take on Alex Palczewski (knee), who is still on IR, took part in the entire activity. Despite not being activated from IR, he participated fully in the last two practices before Week 16.
The Broncos practice report was updated to include defensive tackle Mike Purcell (NIR – rest) and tight end Chris Manhertz (NIR – rest). Purcell never practiced, and Manhertz had little.
ENGLEWOOD, Colorado: As the Broncos get ready for Week 16, outside linebacker Jonathan Cooper progressed to a full participant on Thursday.
Cooper’s (ankle) range of motion was restricted on Wednesday.
After being limited, tackle Alex Palczewski (knee) also recovered to play all out, albeit he is still on injured reserve.
Reversing course After missing practice on Wednesday, Samaje Perine (NIR – rest) resumed on Thursday.
