SAD NEWS;Volunteer volleyball coach from Comstock was struck and murdered by a suspected drunk motorist.
According to Kalamazoo County, the 79-year-old driver struck 30-year-old Brianna McPherson as she was strolling down the side of the road on 26th Street south of H Avenue.At the time of the collision, McPherson was with her 10-year-old daughter. She was taken to the hospital, but deputies said she passed away later.
The sheriff’s office reports that the 79-year-old man was taken into custody on suspicion of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, but he was later freed pending the outcome of a blood test.

The 79-year-old was the subject of pending accusations as of Friday.
