Is “Sunday Night Football” this week an elimination match?

This week, two NFC North rivals will try to remain in the postseason hunt as the Green Bay Packers (7-8) travel to the Minnesota Vikings (7-8) in a pivotal divisional game.

With the advantage of facing the poorest club in the NFL, Green Bay defeated the Carolina Panthers 33–30, but only just. Although the victory should inspire Jordan Love and the offense, the defense’s performance was subpar as they allowed 30 points to one of the worst offenses in the NFL.

The Minnesota Vikings’ season took a turn for the worse last week as they lost to the Detroit Lions in a Week 16 match, their second straight loss. With the season on the line, tight end T.J. Hockenson’s injury struck Minnesota yet another blow and left the Vikings in a difficult predicament.

For both of these teams to have any chance of making the playoffs, they must win. Both have suffered from erratic performance.
