REPORT:Former 4-Star Wide Receiver for the Georgia Bulldogs Is Lost Through the Transfer Portal
The Georgia Bulldogs recently defeated Florida State in a huge bowl game. After the official end of the season, players, like many teams, continue to arrive through the transfer site. CJ Smith, a former four-star wide receiver, declared he was going to use the transfer portal.
WR CJ Smith of the Georgia Bulldogs is lost to the transfer portal.
The 195-pound, 6-foot-2 wide receiver saw little action on the field in 2023. Throughout the season, he only caught six receptions for 116 yards. That was more a result of the roster’s abundance of excellent wide receivers than it was of his skill. Smith made the decision to look for a program where he might be a featured player, as is the case with many elite prospects who do not receive a lot of playing time.
2024 Prospects
It’s unlikely that the Georgia Bulldogs are overly worried. They have a ton of talent coming in, and given the state of college football right now, it is reasonable to expect players to leave. What worries them is the ordeal they will encounter in the upcoming season. They play their first game against Clemson, who isn’t as strong of a team as it once was but is still no easy opponent. Then they have Alabama, Auburn, Texas, Florida, and Ole Miss in the SEC regular season. With that schedule, it will be difficult to avoid defeat, but a loss in the SEC doesn’t mean elimination from the playoffs.
Will 2024 see the Georgia Bulldogs return to the top of the collegiate football standings? They demonstrated to the nation that they remain among the top teams in the nation as they concluded the season with a bang.
