BREAKING NEWS:Everton’s Dele Alli reveals a new injury setback but pledging to be fit.
Dele All, an Everton midfielder, disclosed a new injury setback but stated he will be “attacking my physiotherapy.”
In recent days, pictures of Dele sitting next to crutches went viral on social media, raising concerns that the 27-year-old had suffered a new setback to his fitness. Manager Sean Dyche said that Dele was still a long way off after Everton lost 2-1 to the player’s former team, Tottenham Hotspur, on December 23. However, when questioned about specifics following Everton’s 3-0 loss to Wolverhampton Wanderers on December 30, he responded, “He’s just being assessed and we’re monitoring his situation and trying to progress as best we can.”
Dele hasn’t played for Everton since their 5-1 loss to Arsenal on May 22, 2022. His disappointing loan stint at Besiktas last season was cut short before he revealed a number of off-field problems in an interview with Gary Neville in July. Dele confirmed his latest injury woes in an Instagram post on New Year’s Day, expressing gratitude to Everton supporters for their unwavering support. “I just wanted to say thank you for the incredible support I’ve received over the last 12 months,” he wrote in his letter as the year came to a conclusion.
