Michigan Wolverines: Jim Harbaugh Can Now ‘Sit At the Big Person’s Table’ in the Family After Title WinMichigan Wolverines, Jim Harbaugh

By the looks of it, Michigan Wolverines head coach Jim Harbaugh had some extra motivation to win the College Football Playoff National Championship on Monday.

Of course Harbaugh wanted to win for his players. Not to mention that they have a lot to prove to their haters and detractors after all the sign-stealing accusations thrown against them during the regular season. Naturally, all that stuff gave the Wolverines a boost.

For Harbaugh, though, getting the title would mean that he would finally get a seat at the “big person’s” table in the family. The veteran coach hilariously revealed as much in his postgame presser after they took down the Washington Huskies for the title.

“I can now sit at the big person’s table in the family!” the Michigan Wolverines coach exclaimed, via The Athletic.

My dad, Jack Harbaugh won a national championship, and my brother won a Super Bowl. It’s good to be at the big person’s table from now on.”

Of course those who know the Harbaugh family knows where the 60-year-old coach is coming from. As Jim mentioned, his dad Jack Harbaugh won a national championship when he led Western Kentucky to the NCAA Division I-AA national title back in 2002. As for his brother, John Harbaugh just handed Jim a loss in the Super Bowl when he guided the Baltimore Ravens to the title against the San Francisco 49ers in 2013.

While Jim Harbaugh had plenty of individual accolades, as well as conference titles in the Pro and Collegiate scene, he had never really won the ultimate prize until Monday’s victory.

The way he got his first title couldn’t have been any better for Jim Harbaugh, though. Against the Washington Huskies in Houston, the Michigan Wolverines left no doubt that they are the best team in college football for the 2023 season.

Michigan’s top-ranked defense was expected to be their main advantage in the game, and that proved to be true as they slowed down Michael Penix Jr. and his lethal passing attack with W

The Wolverines forced Penix to commit two interceptions, pressuring him all night long. Unfortunately for the Huskies QB, the Washington offensive line provided little resistance and protection as he was consistently beaten in the game.

On the offensive side of the ball, Harbaugh’s men punished the Washington defense with their brilliant run game. Blake Corum and Donovan Edwards dealt most of the damage, with the two rushing for 134 and 104 yards, respectively, for two touchdowns apiece to help the team take the 34-13 win.
