During their game against the Dallas Cowboys, the Green Bay Packers activate a 25-year-old defender (Report)
The Green Bay Packers are getting ready for their first playoff matchup since the 2021 season. The Packers fought their way to the post-season after coming out victorious over the Chicago Bears in Week 18. Now the Packers have a date with the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday for an opportunity to move onto the division round.
As the Packers prepare for their playoff showdown, the team decided to bring in a 25-year-old cornerback.
The Green Bay Packers Bring In Cornerback Carthell Flowers-Lloyd Amid Playoff Matchup Against The Dallas Cowboys
According to ESPN’s Rob Demovsky:
The Packers are working out three CFL players:
- WR Samuel Emilus (Louisiana Tech)
- DB Carthell Flowers-Lloyd (Stony Brook)
- DB Kenneth George (Tennessee)
As a rookie in 2023, he amassed 31 special teams tackles in 18 games while covering punts and kicks. During his first season in the CFL, he saw limited action on defense.
In 2022, Flowers-Lloyd earned third-team all-conference honours as a collegiate safety at Stony Brook University after accumulating 70 total tackles, 14 tackles for loss, two quarterback sacks, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, one interception and four pass breakups in 10 games. He made 25 tackles during 31 appearances over three seasons at Eastern Michigan University.
Despite Flowers-Lloyd remaining under contract with the Tiger cats for the 2024 season, he will be able to explore NFL opportunities during the CFL’s annual workout window, which runs from November 20 until February 13, 2024. January 8, 2024, is the first day that CFL players can sign reserve/futures contracts with NFL teams
