Rangers want to sign Aberdeen star Bojan Miovski in record-breaking transfer ahead of CelticBojan Miovski won't seal Celtic transfer for silly money as pundits agree Aberdeen star is 'overpriced' - Daily Record

Rangers want to sign Aberdeen star Bojan Miovski ahead of Celtic in January but any deal would be a Scottish record, according to The Sun.

Writing on their website (6 December), the news outlet report that Celtic have made the North Macedonia forward their top January target, but the Dons will demand in excess of the £4.4m record for a deal between two Scottish clubs.

Rangers are also interested in the striker with 11 goals this season, but it’s unlikely they’d be able to afford any deal and their interest likely won’t progress at this stage

“Celtic are weighing up a January move for Aberdeen’s top scorer Bojan Miovski,” they wrote.

“But the Premiership leaders will have to stump up a record sum to land the striker from Pittodrie. SunSport understands Dons will demand the highest-ever fee between two Scottish clubs.

“They value Miovski, 24, at more than the £4.4million Celts paid Hibs for Scott Brown in 2007.

“Rangers have also been keeping tabs on the prolific marksman, but it’s unlikely they would have the finances to take their interest further.”

Firepower

It’s pretty embarrassing that we currently have four strikers on the books at Rangers in the first-team, with three of them arriving less than six months ago and we’re now in the market for a new forward.

Sam Lammers and Cyriel Dessers have been a disaster since arriving under Michael Beale, while Kemar Roofe can’t get over the injury problems that have plagued his career at Ibrox.Rangers

Danilo has been more impressive but there are still some question marks over the Brazilian, and with a title race surprisingly still on after our poor start to the season we can’t afford to leave ourselves short in attack.

Miovski’s record in Scotland is good and Celtic adding him to their squad will only make them stronger, but it’s a summary of how bad we have been in the market that we simply can’t afford to compete.

Clement will have a plan for the summer knowing the budget and what he wants, but it’s a shame that we’ve been left in this position.
