Nick Saban retires: Career record against every SEC team for Alabama coaching legend

Nick Saban ends his legendary coaching career in college football with seven national championships – the most all-time. He won six of those during his tenure at Alabama and one while at LSU in the early 2000s. For more than two decades, Saban dominated competition in the SEC, posting a combined 161-33 (.829) record against the league. He won 11 SEC Championships, joining Bear Bryant as the only coaches in the history of the league to win a conference title at two different schools.

Only eight schools in the SEC recorded multiple wins against Saban between his time at Alabama and LSU. Soon-to-be SEC newcomers Oklahoma and Texas went a combined 4-3 versus Saban. The greatest coach in college football history had numerous classic battles against the likes of Auburn, Florida, Georgia and LSU as the conference powers clashed for supremacy in the SEC. The Crimson Tide were often victorious in those meetings, especially when ranked No. 1 with an 88-10 (.898) record as the top team in the nation under Saban.

So, which SEC teams had the most success against Saban?

Kentucky is another SEC program that went winless against Nick Saban. The Wildcats lost all six meetings against Alabama and three against LSU when Saban was with the Tigers in the early 2000s. Kentucky hosted the Crimson Tide back in November and fell behind early en route to a 49-21 loss. Back in 2008, the Wildcats nearly upset then-No. 2 Alabama as a second-half rally came up short.
