Less than 24 hours after committing, Georgia Bulldogs Transfer Portal Quarterback Reneges on Decision
A significant commitment was made to the Georgia Bulldogs yesterday by former UNLV quarterback Jayden Maiava. Though Carson Beck would be back for another season, Maiava would be ready to take over for one of the nation’s top teams. He abruptly revealed that he would be attending USC instead, though, after changing his mind at the last minute.
QB Loses for Georgia Bulldogs Maiava Jayden To USC
In Athens, the quarterback room appears a touch thin. To the surprise of many, Maiava abruptly revealed that he would instead be attending USC. It proves that nothing is official even after a verbal promise. Gamers still have the option to change their minds and go elsewhere. This is something that many players are beginning to exhibit. then make an announcement about their choice, but then swiftly retract it. These kinds of judgments require careful thought, and some programs try everything from the bottom up and manage to succeed.
A Curious Decision
I thought the Georgia decision was a great one for Maiava. The quarterback room is thin meaning the competition is not as steep. It seemed that Maiava would be on the fast track to starting next season. At USC, things are a little more competitive and it isn’t clear whether Maiava will see the field next year. Obviously, we don’t know what was said behind closed doors but the Trojans must have made him an offer he couldn’t refuse.
It is back to the drawing board for the Georgia Bulldogs. While they have a quarterback for next year, they will need to figure out something for the future.
