West Brom have fielded several enquiries in the market to sign an out-an-out winger on loan together with Andi Weimann, according to Lewis Cox.

The Express & Star journalist speaking in the Baggies Broadcast podcast (15 January) shared that West Brom have made several contacts with agents over possible loan deals as they want two attacker transfers this month.

The Baggies confirmed the signing of Weimann on loan from Bristol City on Monday and Cox – speaking before that deal was announced – shared that the club are also looking for an out-an-out winger.

Cox said (15 January, 34m:57sec) said: “I know Albion have made several enquiries in terms of loans and they want two don’t they? Weimann being the versatile number nine and the other I see that more of an out-and-out winger to be honest.west brom

“I’m aware they’ve made an enquiry over at least one individual but they’ll have had to have spread the net far and wide.”

Corberan going for it

West Brom are in desperate need of additions this month given the depleted attacking weaponry at Corberan’s disposal at this moment of time.

Weimann’s signing certainly represents a boost for the Albion given his vast experience and expertise at this level, also considering he has 50 Bristol City goals should provide fans with confidence that he can deliver.west brom

It’s no secret West Brom are undergoing a financial crisis right now which means they can’t seal permanent deals but can make room for loan ones and Cox’s update certainly suggests Corberan is going for it on the attacking front.

The Baggies, in a number of weeks, have seen Jeremy Sarmiento return to Brighton from his loan spell in Birmingham and join up with promotion rivals Ipswich Town, Grady Diangana left the squad to represent DR Congo at AFCON.

There has also been doubts and inconsistencies over Jed Wallace’s and John Swift’s availability in recent weeks which means Corberan needs options, especially in the wide areas.

Tom Fellows and Jovan Malcolm are exciting picks but one more addition on a temporary loan certainly won’t go amiss right now.
