Detroit is competing in a conference final for the second time ever in team history. Dan Campbell’s team is one victory away from making it to the Super Bowl after winning their first two home playoff games against the Rams and Buccaneers.
One may argue that no NFL fan base has ever been as tortured as the one in Motor City. Although the city is undoubtedly passionate about its team, this enthusiasm hasn’t translated into success on the pitch.

Detroit has never attended a championship game. Their run now stands at 57 years, with the possibility to reach 58 should the club fail to defeat San Francisco in the 2024 NFC title game.
The Browns, who have also never attended a Super Bowl, are tied with the Lions. (The three years that the Browns were without a game, from 1996 to 1998, are included in the team’s drought.)
