Kyle Lowry Gets a Strong Warning from a Former No. 2 Pick About Signing With an NBA PowerhoEvan Turner to Kyle Lowry: Don't Sign With the Lakers

A former NBA player used social media to advise former Miami Heat point guard Kyle Lowry to avoid the Los Angeles Lakers in the event that he finds himself in the buyout market.

After ten years in the NBA, Evan Turner, a former small forward and shooting guard, took to social media and seemingly without cause sent Lowry the following message on X (formerly Twitter).

Turner stated, “Think about your legacy. Do not go to the Lakers; they are trying to make you the fall guy.”

Over his playing career, Turner was a member of five teams; the Lakers were not one of them. In the 2010 NBA Draft, he was selected by the Philadelphia 76ers with the second overall pick. Turner’s harsh warning to Lowry not to sign with the Lakers, who are still one team that may sign him if he reaches the buyout market, is not entirely apparent.

Terry time with the Hornets is probably coming to an end.

NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN stated shortly after Miami traded Lowry that “the Hornets will work to move Lowry, 37, onto another team before the deadline, but short of finding a deal for him and his $29.6 million expiring contract, he could eventually become a contract buyout candidate.”

Not everyone is claiming that Lowry is going for the buyout market, including Woj.

Rod Boone of the Charlotte Observer reported on January 24 that “one league source suggested the Hornets will probably buy Lowry out of the remainder of his contract, giving the veteran opportunity to choose his next destination.”

Terry million from signing players who have been cut or end up on the buyout market, provided their salaries did not exceed $12.4 million. This means that Lowry cannot be signed by clubs like the Milwaukee Bucks, Boston Celtics, or Golden State Warriors.

However, the Lakers remain a viable destination.

Rozier’s addition has resulted in three straight losses for the Heat. Miami has lost seven of its previous ten games, including those three contests. Although Rozier hasn’t yet settled in since moving to South Beach, the organization anticipates that the seasoned shooting guard will quickly click with his new teammates.

Rozier’s scoring output has decreased with the Hornets this season after he averaged 23.2 points in 35.5 minutes per game. After three games with the Heat, his point total is just 8.7 per game.

Erik Spoelstra, the coach of Miami, stated of Rozier, via The Miami Herald, “He’ll figure it out.” I understand that he is attempting to blend in. All of us are expressing the same idea. Terry should remain Terry. He’s going to give us access to more stuff. You can see the necessary burst of rim pressure that he provides for us. Not only does the head coach say such; his teammates also concur.

In his most recent game with Miami, Rozier had his best performance, handing out seven assists and scoring ten points.contributes to the Heat’s January 27 defeat against the Knicks, 125-109. That’s encouraging, and it won’t be long until the Heat’s newest player is scoring more than 20 points a contest once more.
