Zac Taylor, the head coach of the Cincinnati Bengals, announced on Wednesday that his

contract had been extended through 2026.

The Bengals, under the direction of head coach Taylor for the last three years, advanced to

the third AFC championship game in franchise history and Super Bowl 56.

Bengals owner and president Mike Brown stated in a press release, “Zac has come into the

league and worked to develop the foundations for a winning program that can be

successful over time.” “This year, Zac’s efforts paid off, and our coaches and players hold

great admiration for him. I appreciate Zac’s approach and am aware of the effort and

enthusiasm he contributes to the facility and our team. And Cincinnati, I believe, sees him that way.

I do, as do the players. He should be commended and given credit for bringing excitement to the community.

One day after the club returned from Los Angeles, on Tuesday, Brown and Taylor came to

an agreement over the deal. Taylor claimed that the short duration of the call was due to

his annual practice of being in close contact with Brown and the other front office staff

members. He attributes his success in large part to this.

Taylor stated on Wednesday morning, “I am incredibly grateful for this opportunity I’ve

been given.” “Who knows whether I would have ever become a head coach if I hadn’t been

hired by the Bengals? I’m not sure. I will thus always be grateful for the chance that Mike

and the family provided for me. Here, I’m content. This place is really popular with my

family. I enjoy entering the building each day. Everyone I come into contact with, I adore.

Therefore, when everyone is in agreement, moving forward with anything is not difficult.”

With only six victories in his first two seasons, Taylor had pressure to deliver in 2021.

Brown openly backed Taylor after the 2020 campaign, stating

The franchise had high expectations for the foundation he was laying. He continued by

stressing the significance of the forthcoming season for Taylor’s continued success as the

Bengals’ head coach.
