This season, the Baltimore defense led by Kevin Macdonald made history by leading the NFL in points allowed per game (16.5), sacks (60), and takeaways (31) all in the same season. This allowed the Ravens to secure the top seed in the AFC and make the playoffs.

Under Ravens head coach John Harbaugh, Macdonald has started every game in the last two years as a defensive end. He worked as the DC for Jim, the second well-known Harbaugh brother, at the University of Michigan in 2021. Before then, Macdonald played linebacker for the Ravens from 2014 to 20.

After two consecutive 9-8 seasons and missing the playoffs in two of the previous three seasons, Macdonald takes over the Seahawks.
