The Golden State Warriors are in shock following a dismal
Reeling from a dismal 21–25 record, the Golden State Warriors recently inquired about a trade with the Chicago Bulls in an attempt to add guard Alex Caruso to their roster.
The Warriors made a trade offer to the Bulls in an attempt to get the excellent defender for Golden State. But Chicago quickly rejected the effort, according to K.C. Johnson.
Caruso has been an invaluable member of the Bulls, as he is well-known for his defensive abilities and 3-and-D capabilities. Caruso has become a highly sought-after player in the league with averages of 10.0 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.3 steals, and 1.1 blocks per game. He also has amazing shooting percentages of 48.6% from the field and 40.5% from beyond the arc.
The Warriors were eager to add Caruso to their squad in order to strengthen their defense, which is currently struggling with a rating of 117.4, ranking 22nd. Due to their poor performance this season, the team, coached by Steve Kerr, is aiming to strengthen their roster before the trade deadline, which is quickly coming, by making some clever moves.
The Bulls, driven by an internal concentration on securing a postseason berth, have avoided cutting ties with Caruso in spite of the Warriors’ desire. The latest announcement of Zach LaVine’s season-ending surgery may have an impact on the Bulls’ decision about Caruso and add some uncertainty to the team’s schedule.
Both the Warriors and the Bulls will have to overcome their own obstacles as the trade deadline approaches. While the Bulls must choose their next move following LaVine’s injury, the Warriors must make significant adjustments in order to preserve their season.
Whether these teams can make the required changes to mold their playoff prospects and establish their places in the league will become clear in the coming days.
Nightmare Season with Klay Thompson Continues
In his most recent game against the Atlanta Hawks, Klay Thompson continued to struggle, making it another difficult performance for the seasoned guard. Thompson struggled, finishing with just 10 points, making only 4 of his 19 field goal tries and 2 of his 13 efforts from beyond the arc. These difficulties have come to represent his nightmare season.
Thompson’s form has been a major cause of the Golden State Warriors’ poor season. Thompson is averaging 17.3 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game, which is less than he usually does. Interestingly, he now has a career-low shooting percentage of 41.5% from the field and 37.5% from three-point range.
The Warriors are in the last year of Thompson’s contract, a seasoned guard who is apparently looking for a new contract. The 33-year-old and the organization have not yet struck an agreement, and his on-court success this season might not be sufficient to warrant a hefty contract extension. After a two-year injury layoff, Thompson has had difficulty regaining the superior form that allowed him to play a key role in the Warriors’ title campaigns.
The Warriors are having a difficult season overall, and Thompson’s lackluster play has made things worse. As of right now, they are 21-25. Thompson’s position and the terms of his contract are still up in the air as the team attempts to get back together and decide on a course of action for the future.
Whether Klay Thompson can return to his best and sign a new contract with the Warriors or face an unclear future in the NBA will probably become clearer in the coming months.
