Seattle Seahawks News 2/2: Mike Macdonald introduces himself to the Seahawks Faithful - Field Gulls

Mike Macdonald, a former defensive coordinator for the Ravens, was brought on by the Seahawks to take over as head coach.

Mike Macdonald has been appointed as the ninth head coach in the history of the Seahawks.

As the defensive coordinator of the Baltimore Ravens for the previous two seasons, Macdonald has assembled one of the greatest defenses in the NFL. At thirty-six, he becomes the league’s youngest head coach.

Macdonald exclaimed, “What an honor,” when he and his spouse, Stephanie, were welcomed by team members at the Virginia Mason Athletic Center. “We couldn’t be happier to be here. We were drawn to this place by the people, even before we got to know John and the other residents. To bring a championship back to Seattle and the 12s is the reason we are here.

“There will be enough of

It’s going to be amazing, we’re going to work really hard, and it will be enjoyable. We’re going to have a great football season and stay here for a very long time.”

Pete Carroll, who led the team for the last 14 seasons, will hand up head coaching duties to Macdonald. Macdonald’s tasks will include helping the team advance while preserving the team’s good culture, as general manager John Schneider explained earlier this month.

Schneider stated, “We want to maintain our positive culture.” “Everything in this building that has been made here. This building contains a plethora of exceptional individuals. Talking to all of these agencies and candidates for this job over the phone and being able to say something like, “Hey,” is incredible. An amazing foundation is present here.”

The Ravens were the first team in league history to finish first in all three categories. Under Macdonald, the club led the NFL in scoring defense, allowing 16.5 points per game, sacks (60), and takeaways (31). The Ravens had the sixth-highest yards allowed per game (301.4) as well.

He seems to be the most qualified applicant to be a head coach.

Ravens linebacker Patrick Queen told reporters on Monday that he was “there right now.” Nobody, in my opinion, does it quite like him. No one is as concerned as he is. Nobody will carry out his actions. He won’t stop working until everything is perfect. If he goes, then whoever wins will have the best candidate available. Overall, the guy is the greatest person I’ve ever met, both as a coach and a person. He genuinely cares about the players, the supporters, and everyone associated with the organization.”
