Three applicants should be interviewed by the Steelers for coaching staff roles.
Arthur Smith, the offensive coordinator for the Tennessee Titans and a former head coach of the Atlanta Falcons, was appointed by the Pittsburgh Steelers earlier this week, and they aren’t done yet.
Pittsburgh is scheduled to meet with several position coaches from around the league for positions on their new offensive staff, according to All Steelers’ Noah Strackbein.
The team will meet with coaches Zach Azzani of the New York Jets wide receivers, Charles London of the Tennessee Titans quarterbacks, and Tom Arth of the Los Angeles Chargers, who specializes in passing games.
That would be indicated by a pass-game coordinator on staff.
Arth joined the Chargers in 2022 after serving as head coach at Akron from 2019 to 21. Before joining the Tennessee Titans staff in 2023, London worked as Smith’s quarterbacks coach in Atlanta from 2021 to 2022. Since 2015, Azzani has served as the wide receivers coach for the Titans, where he also served as the pass game coordinator. Along with the Chicago Bears, Denver Broncos, and most recently the New York Jets in 2023, he has also played for other teams.

This is wonderful news! I am thrilled because I think we will be deadly with Arthur Smith and his run game combined with a passing specialist. And it demonstrates once more how our brain trust is capable of succeeding and is dedicated to achieving success. It’s true that they will carry out their plan. And, thank God, they won’t be dictated to or harassed by misinformed, overly sentimental supporters or prejudiced detractors. However, they never stop listening.
I don’t care who they choose because I know they’ll pick the proper guys. For me, it matters more to have someone occupy that position. We don’t really “need” a new line coach, in my opinion, any more than we
require two additional linemen. If the Munchak dream comes true, though, that would also be incredible. In addition to a second-year standout and a second-year draft pick, I believe we will acquire a rookie center and right tackle. Maybe Munchak can shape all that raw clay into a pro bowl line!
