Sad News: Raiders Two key Player Were Suspended from 2 games for fight

ENGLEWOOD, Colorado:One day after being removed from Sunday’s game for fighting, wide receiver Michael Crabtree of the

Oakland Raiders and cornerback Aqib Talib of the Denver Broncos were each given two-game suspensions on Monday.

The sanctions were appealed by both players. Should the ruling be sustained, Crabtree would miss the Raiders’ games against the New

York Giants and Kansas City Chiefs, while Talib would miss the Broncos’ games against the Miami Dolphins and New York Jets.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Derrick Brooks will represent Crabtree at the appeal hearings on Tuesday, while James Thrash

will represent Talib. According to ESPN’s Jim Trotter, an expedited decision is anticipated and might be made by Tuesday at 6 p.m.

The sanctions were announced on Monday by NFL Vice President of Operations Jon Runyan. night, and written notice was sent to

every participant. Runyan wrote to Talib about Talib “reigniting” the fight for a second encounter, “aggressively” taking off Crabtree’s

helmet and punching him, and Talib ripping a chain off Crabtree’s neck. Runyan went on, “Such behavior has no place in this game; it

breeds animosity between teams and invites more confrontations.”

The Broncos cornerback Chris Harris Jr. was punched in the stomach by wide receiver Josh Crabtree on a play that preceded his

altercation with Talib, according to Runyan’s letter to Crabtree. Crabtree’s actions with Talib “triggered a melee and endangered

various sideline and League personnel, including one of the Game Officials who was injured trying to maintain control of the

situation.”

On Monday morning, Broncos coach According to Vance Joseph, Talib’s acts are “unacceptable.” Talib expressed his hope that the

NFL will take into account “how it started” before imposing any possible sanctions.

At 11:47 of the first quarter on Sunday, Raiders guard Gabe Jackson, Talib, and Crabtree were all dismissed. For fighting, Talib and

Crabtree were sent off, and Jackson was sent off for interacting with an official.

Joseph added that during the team meeting on Monday, he discussed the event.

Raiders coach Jack Del Rio, meanwhile, stated earlier on Monday in Oakland that he had not yet spoken with Crabtree.

 

“I’ll see him tomorrow,” Del Rio declared.

At the time, Del Rio added that he didn’t think Jackson or Crabtree would get suspensions.

“League to decide,” stated Del Rio regarding Crabtree. “Hopefully not. That kind of reaction seems unlikely to me, based on what I

witnessed.”

Del Rio expressed his opinions on Twitter following the announcement of the suspensions.

During Oakland’s second drive of the game, Crabtree stopped Talib on a second-and-6 play from the Raiders’ 24-yard line, stopping

Marshawn Lynch’s 5-yard run. Crabtree persisted in pushing. Talib crossed the line close to the Broncos bench.

After exchanging shoves, Talib and Crabtree proceeded to punch one other. On Monday, Talib claimed that Crabtree had struck him

first. Before the incident, Talib tore a chain off Crabtree, just like he did in a game last season.

Schefter was informed by sources that Crabtree had taped the chain to his body before to the game because of the previous incident.
